New rules in european airlines for flight crew have been confirmed ealrier ths week regarding their mental fitness. Therefore within the next two years all air-carriers who fly over the european teritorities have to been through this process to prepare for the Regulation and to set up the necessary infrastructure to comply with the Regulation. establish the necessary infrastucture which has to comply with EASA'S Regulation under their company safety umbrella.
Moreover EASA planned to help all pilots in recognising, coping with, and overcoming problems which might negatively affect their ability to safely exercise the privileges of their licence by inventing a support programme as a safety measure allowing them to breath and overcome any issue that might affect the safety of them and their passengers.
Commenting on the publication of the Regulation, EASA's Executive Director, Patrick Ky, said:
"These new European rules take up the proposals EASA made in its swift follow-up of the Germanwings Flight 9525 accident, in consultation with the wider aviation community. With these rules Europe introduces the right tools to safeguard the mental fitness of air crew. During the two year transition period, EASA will actively support European and international stakeholders in implementing this new Regulation’’.
The accidents which costs the lifes of the passengers was caused by the illness of the first officer who decided to crash the plane over the alpis. The investigation reveal that the german pilot deliberately hid his illness and killing himself 149 passengers and crew on board according to CNN report. The investigator confim that no suicide note was found nothing indicating a political or religious based motivated.
